Digital Design & Web Specialist

Job overview

The Digital Design and Web Specialist plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of Good Access’s digital presence and content production. This is a hands-on, collaborative role focused on keeping our website, digital content, and digital activities organised, up to date, and aligned with our brand and accessibility values.

You’ll work closely with the communications, marketing and sales teams to support digital content creation such as images for social media, flyers, design documents, among others. You will also create new landing pages in our website, update existing ones, and manage the overall look&feel of our website.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured creative work, is confident designing and working with digital content and images, and is motivated by accessibility, inclusion, and storytelling.

Location: Fully remote/Online

Hours: Part-time, 4 days per week

Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Start Date: As soon as possible following interview

Reports to: Chief Communications Officer

Main Duties

  • Support updates to the company website (uploading and formatting content, maintaining pages, creating new ones, designing a clear structure that ensures a good customer journey).
  • Design graphics, flyers, images for digital promotion across our social media channels, newsletters and blog posts.
  • Design templates for our newsletter, templates for different slide decks, etc.
  • Design merchandising material, roll-up banners and any material needed that follows Good Access brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with the team to bring content ideas to life across multiple formats
  • Help coordinate and produce content, including expert-led and lived-experience work
  • Ensure content aligns with accessibility and inclusion best practices
  • Contribute to the organisation and smooth running of digital projects and content workflows
  • Experience in writing and video editing would be a plus. This is not a mandatory requirement, but it is a nice-to-have skill that we would consider when assessing candidates for the role.

About You

  • You have proven experience creating digital content, such as website pages, graphics, templates, social media assets, newsletters or similar materials.
  • You are comfortable using digital tools, CMS platforms, such as WordPress and page builders such as Elementor, or you are confident learning them with guidance.
  • You are happy to work using shared files and design software, and you are willing to learn new systems as the role develops.
  • You can work independently, ask useful questions and manage shifting priorities in a small team.
  • You are non-judgemental and interested in accessibility, disability inclusion and social impact.

Experience

We are looking for someone with practical experience in digital design, website updates and creating accessible digital content. You do not need to have followed a traditional career path, but you should be able to show that you can produce clear, well-organised digital work, learn new tools when needed, and apply accessibility considerations to digital materials.

Example Tasks

These examples are here to help you understand what the role looks like day-to-day. You do not need to have done all of these before. If you can do some of them, or can learn how, that’s great.

  • Create, upload and format content on the website (e.g. blog posts, service pages, case studies)
  • Design graphics, flyers, images for digital promotion across our social media channels, newsletters and blog posts.
  • Design templates for our newsletter, templates for different slide decks, etc.
  • Help organise content pipelines (keeping track of what’s planned, in progress, or published)
  • Suggest ways to improve accessibility in digital content (e.g. captions, structure, readability)
  • Use tools like CMS platforms, shared drives, or content tools to keep work organised
  • Bring ideas for improving how we create and manage digital content
  • Edit and proofread written content to ensure clarity, tone, and accessibility. This is a plus.
  • Write blog posts based on themes or outlines provided by the team. This is a plus.

How to Apply

We want our application process to be accessible, supportive and easy to use. You can apply in the way that works best for you.

You can submit your application by:

  • Video application: If recording a short video is more accessible for you, you’re welcome to do so.
  • Audio application: You may send an audio recording instead of a written statement. Please be aware that some members of our team are Deaf, so there may be a slight delay in response to this method. You will not be penalised for sending an audio recording.

If you need adjustments, we welcome requests as a Disability Confident Employer. Contact us for support via email or phone. Details are under Accessible Contact Options.

What happens when you apply:

We’ll send you a short Microsoft Form to check essential criteria and ask about any support or adjustments you may need.

Interview Adjustments

If it helps you feel more comfortable or better able to communicate, you are welcome to have a support person present during the interview. This could be someone who provides communication support, emotional support, or practical assistance. You do not need to disclose personal details, simply let us know what you need.

Accessible Contact Options

We know that people have different communication needs. You can contact us in the way that works best for you.

You can contact us in the following ways:

  • Phone us: +44 7549 067770 (Note: this will reach our Sales team, who will share your information. We have Deaf members of staff on our team so a direct call is not always accessible for them).
  • WhatsApp: +44 7549 067770
  • Ask for a call back if phone calls are difficult
  • Request written communication only if preferred
  • Request communication in BSL – we will work with you to organise an interpreter.
  • Ask questions in advance if you need more information before applying

We are happy to answer questions about the role, adjustments, the interview process, or anything else you need to feel comfortable applying.

Equal Opportunities

We are a Disability Confident Employer.

This means we are committed to making our recruitment process inclusive and supporting disabled people to thrive at work. Our team is made up of disabled and neurodivergent staff, and we are enthusiastic about creating a diverse team.

Here is what this means for you as an applicant:

  • We welcome applications from disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, learning disabled and mental‑health‑disabled people.
  • We will make reasonable adjustments at every stage of the process, before you apply, during interviews, and once you start the role.
  • We are happy to adapt how we communicate with you.
  • If you meet the essential criteria for the role, you will be offered an interview through the Disability Confident scheme.

We actively welcome applications from multiply marginalised people backgrounds.

We recognise that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not equally distributed. We are committed to challenging this imbalance by creating a hiring process that is fair, supportive, and accessible for all.

If you belong to a group that has been historically excluded from certain workplaces, we especially want to hear from you.

We know that many people face overlapping and compounding barriers when applying for jobs, including disabled people, ethnic minority applicants, LGBTQ+ people, people from low‑income or working‑class backgrounds, people with migrant histories, and those who have experienced discrimination in more than one area of life. Research shows that structural barriers, unconscious bias, and limited access to networks continue to affect who applies for roles and who is selected. For example, ethnic minority and low‑socioeconomic‑background candidates are significantly less likely to progress through traditional recruitment processes, even when equally qualified.

We want to help change this.

We encourage applications from people who are often excluded or overlooked in recruitment, including people with intersecting identities, sometimes called “multiply marginalised”, because diversity of lived experience strengthens our work and helps us create more accessible, equitable spaces.

Our recruitment process is designed to reduce barriers, and we offer adjustments at every stage. If you’re unsure whether to apply, we warmly encourage you to do so. Your skills, potential, and lived experience matter more than a traditional career path.

Ready to apply? Use the most accessible method for you.
